Complica Privacy Policy

Complica helps you turn JSON endpoints into Apple Watch complications. The app is designed to keep your configuration on your devices.

Data Stored by the App

Complica stores the JSON sources, optional custom headers, selected JSON paths, complication presets, refresh settings, purchase entitlement status, and cached values that you create or use in the app. This information is stored locally in Complica's private containers and app groups. The iPhone app may send the configuration and cached values to your paired Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework so the watch app and complications can work.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your sources, presets, settings, and cached values remain on your devices until you remove them. Deleting a source in Complica also removes its associated presets and cached values. Deleting a preset removes its cached value. Cached endpoint responses are replaced as complications refresh.

You can delete all Complica data by removing the app from your iPhone and Apple Watch. Complica does not create an account and the developer does not keep a server-side copy of your configuration or cached JSON data, so there is no separate developer-held account data to request for deletion.

Network Requests

When you add a JSON URL, Complica requests that URL so it can preview and refresh your complication data. Any custom headers you configure are sent only to the endpoint you provide. Internet endpoints should use HTTPS; local or private-network HTTP endpoints may be used when supported by the app. The operator of an endpoint may receive and retain normal request information under its own privacy policy.

Local Network Access

If you configure a local or private-network endpoint, Complica uses local network access only to contact that address. It does not scan for, enumerate, or advertise devices on your network.

Data Sharing

Complica does not send your sources, headers, presets, or cached JSON data to the developer. This information is shared only among Complica's app, watch app, and complication extensions as needed to provide the features you configure.

Purchases

Complica may use Apple's StoreKit framework to process optional non-consumable in-app purchases, such as lifetime Pro access. Payment processing and purchase management are handled by Apple. Complica does not receive your payment card details.

Analytics and Tracking

Complica does not include third-party advertising trackers and does not sell personal data.
